Welcome to wildguppies.com! Aquarists have been fascinated by guppies for over one hundred years. During this time, breeders have seized the inherent variability of guppy characteristics, and have created a diverse selection of guppy breeds. Despite the beauty of these highly specialized works of art, many people can't help but to be enamored by the wild-type guppy. The very diversity that first attracted people to guppies is beautiful in its own right, even if wild specimens do not demonstrate finely honed phenotypes for specific fin shapes or colors.
This website is still a work in progress, but the goal of its presentation is to convey information about wild-type guppies, explain how to maintain them, and support interest in keeping these amazing animals. Please check back often for updates or expansions on the material discussed here.
